Saint Therese of Lisieux Relic Bracelet
Born at Alençon, France on January 2, 1873
Died at Lisieux, France on September 30, 1897
Canonized by Pope Pius XI 1925
ST. THERESE, also known as the “Little Flower” of Jesus, was a cloistered Carmelite nun who died at age 24 after suffering for several years with Tuberculosis. In her almost ten years as a nun, she wrote over 2000 pages of a Journal, “Story of a Soul” which was published
a year after her death. The fame of her sanctity and the many miracles performed through her intercession caused the introduction of her cause of canonization only twenty-eights years after her death.
She is the patron saint of AIDS patients and their families,
missions, air crews, aircraft pilots,
loss of parents, sick people, and flowers.

The Flower
by St. Therese
All the earth with snow is covered,
Everywhere the white frosts reign;
Winter and his gloomy courtiers
Hold their court on earth again.
But for you has bloomed the Flower
Of the fields, Who comes to earth
From the fatherland of heaven,
Where eternal spring has birth.
Near the Rose of Christmas, Sister!
In the lowly grasses hide,
And be like the humble flowerets, --
Of heaven’s King the lowly bride!
Prayer to Saint Theresa of the Child Jesus
Dear Little Flower of Lisieux,
how wonderful was the short life you led.
Though cloistered, you went far and wide
through fervent prayers and great sufferings.
You obtained from God untold helps and graces
for his evangelists.
Help all missionaries in their work and teach all
of us to spread Christianity in our
own neighborhoods and family circles.
Amen. |
